Program Objective
The EKG technician is responsible for performing various test to access the heart rhythm and rate in patients. EKG is used to assist in diagnosing patients with Cardiac problems or when physician deems it necessary. The EKG Technician is an integral part of the heart care team. The student will learn about anatomy and physiology, basic electrophysiology, sinus rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, ventrical rhythms, atrioventricular block and pacemaker rhythms.
